We warmly welcome Dr Tian Yun, who is joining us for a year as a visiting scholar! She will be working with our PhD student Jieqiong on understanding the de-regulation of gene expression involved in solid tumor.
Farewell Lunch for Justin, Joshua and Aaron
We had a farewell lunch treat by at The Lunch Table. It was a nice cosy a-la-carte buffet with great food and even better company! Farewells are always tinged with a little sadness but we’re really excited to see what the future brings for Justin, Joshua and Aaron!
Our first FYP student Justin has Graduated!
Congrats to Justin who just graduated from NUS with a BSc. Life Science (Hons). He will be joining Cancer Science Institute (CSI) to pursue his PhD. We wish him all the best and will definitely miss him.
Our PhD Student, Jieqiong has passed her PQE!
We are very happy to congratulate our PhD student Jieqiong on successfully passing her PhD Qualifying Examination (PQE)! Now with that milestone crossed, its full steam ahead with her experiments!

Another Lab baby is born! Our Research officer Benjamin’s wife has just given birth to a little healthy baby boy! Baby Nigel is doing well and his older brother can’t wait for him grow up so that they can play together!
New review paper on the Primordial Germ Cell is out!
We have just published a review paper in the journal WIREs Systems Biology and Medicine titled, “Committing the primordial germ cell: An updated molecular perspective”
We have a new Research Officer!
WWT Lab would like to extend a very warm welcome to Aaron Tan Tze Kai! Aaron is an A*Star scholar that is returning to Singapore after completing his Bachelors in University of Edinburgh. He will be doing a 1 year stint in the WWT lab as a Research Officer attached to Dr Dennis Tan.

The start of the new university calendar year after the end of the summer has brought to the WWT lab lots of fresh faces and a familiar one!
We welcome back Justin Tan from his 6 month Student Exchange Programme to Ankara, Turkey to do his FYP in the WWT Lab. He will continue working with Dr Lau Mei Sheng as his mentor.
We are also welcoming 2 new students from NUS!
First up is Zuo Heng, a Year 2 Pharmacy student who will be working on an 8MC UROPS project attached to Dr Lau Kah Weng.
Next, we have Joshua Lam, a Year 1 Life Science student who will be attached to Dr Chung Hwa Hwa to work on his project.

Triple Birthday Celebrations!
Turns out that we have three May babies in our lab!
We celebrated the birthdays of Wee Wei, Meisheng and Benjamin by surprising them with a cake after lab meeting. Turns out cake and meetings make a good pairing!
